Index Tabs

Index tabs are the tabs on catalogue pages that help readers find chapters quickly. They can sit on the left, the right, or both sides of the spread. This package places and sizes them automatically from metadata, instead of maintaining them by hand on the parent pages of each document template.

When to use it

Use this package when a project has index tabs across many documents or templates. Building tabs on parent pages usually means every template change and every removed chapter has to be fixed by hand, and editorial documents built from other templates need extra manual work. This package removes that maintenance by generating the tabs from the publication structure.
